Day 424: an iceberg

28.02.15: a lesson I learned from my years and years and years of sailing iceberg-infested water; you take icebergs seriously!!!

Day 423: fresh air

27.02.15: ...yeah, should have gone with the suggestion my wife gave me: leave the page blank 'cause after all, you can't see air... Think it would have been better than what I came up with...

Day 422: a swinming pool

26.02.15: true story from real life!! And, yes, technically this is a paddling pool, but the Boss swims in it, it's a swimming pool!! And of course the only inaccuracy is my drink. A) it was not Ribena and B) if the Ribena boxes came in that size, the Boss would never let me have one!!

Day 421: a narwhal

25.02.15: I must admit I had to look up what a narwhal was too. Other than that, I got nothing else I think I need to say about this one...

Day 420: an Egyptian pyramid

24.02.15: I wanted to do more with this one, but it's been kind of a rough day and I really need to get some sleep. Story-wise I do believe it is directly connected to day 348 and maybe even a few others...

Day 419: an elephant

23.02.15: if we are going to draw an elephant, we go with a famous one who has great quotes! I discovered the genius ofDoc. Seuss very late, but at least I didn't discover him too late!

Day 418: an inner tube

22.02.15: when a unicycle-miming-act goes wrong. Or one more reason miming is dangerous life choice... Oh, and the inner tube is that black thing wrapped around Gus' head, leg and neck.

Day 417: a cabbage patch

21.02.15: very few people would read the words cabbage patch and not be able to add the kid after it. And to me there is only one cabbage patch kid and that is Monster Fighting Kid P. P. Ding, a cartoon WAY too few people know about. (To find out, go to Doc Monster Laboratory to discover P. P. and some other amazingly cool cartoons by the ever talented Doc Monster). I do believe the doll was created from the cartoon, but today they are one and the same. I will  not go further in to it, because you will only think me insane. Instead I present to you P. P. Ding vs. monseuteo yangbaechu wom. Doc, I want  the cartoon of this... Or at the very least, the spud version!!!

Day 416: a snout

20.02.15: one of these that seemed like a good idea at the time but didn't turn out quite how I expected. I do however think I will revisit Snowdon "the Snout" Mercalf at some later days as I still like the idea.

For those of you who do not get it, Snout is another term for a police informant, so between that and my wife's continued suggestion to just draw Peppa Pig, another of Cobb City Most Wanted  came to be!

19.02.15: Jon & Gus' snowy and icy adventure from day 272 and 218 continue, framed by some lovely icicles.

Day 414: teeth

18.02.15: ...or the lack there of...

I was gonna draw somebody throwing their dentures at Jon Pay or something silly like that. Then my teething 8 month old son started screaming and it was obvious what I had to draw. Unfortunately it did not turn out as cute as I would have hoped...then again, teething is anything but cute...

Day 413: a gravestone

17.02.15: I still say there ain't any vampires in Cobb City...

Tuesday, February 17, 2015

Day 412: a cornucopia

16.02.15: felt it was time for the Tiny Adventurer who was in the need for some food, and was lucky enough to find an mystical, unlimited supply.

Monday, February 16, 2015

Day 411: a ballpoint pen

15.02.15: "...and you actually have a sword..."

Jack Blayne is back sticking his nose where it does not belong...

Day 410: a stick of gum

14.02.15: this was the only thing I could come up with but I did tie it to yestersdays sketch...

Day 409: a squid

13.02.15: I know everybody has been wondering what happened to Jon Pay after the scene in day 3. Well, you need not wonder anymore! And I got to use one of my favorite quotes of all times...can actually do the voice!!

Day 408: a string of DNA

12.02.15: yeah, the best I could come up with. One of these night I'll stop complaining about not sleeping and Junior will have more than his two teeth... And I will also point out that the Boss is using proper slide procedure and is crossing her arms across her chest! Safety first when you slide down a string of DNA...

Thursday, February 12, 2015

Day 407: a motel

11.02.15: "...they'll see. They'll see and they'll know, and they'll say 'Why, she wouldn't even harm a fly...'"

First (and only) time I whatched it, I was scared s**tless before the opening credits were done... That music...

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

Day 406: a hanger

10.02.15: don't you judge me!! If you have kids who are learning to crawl (backwards...) and who don't sleep, you know exactly what I am talking about...

Monday, February 9, 2015

Day 405: contrails

09.02.15: you know the smoke or vapor trails behind airplanes (or in this case superheroes) (yeah, I had to look it up too...). For some reason the Bantry Blossom sprang to mind again. Hope you like it!

Day 404: a lollipop

08.02.15: the story from day 400 continues and Tommy Bambino got his lollipop back...

Day 402: an opera singer

06.02.15: is there anything more to say?

     Have a nice weekend everybody!!

Friday, February 6, 2015

Day 401: a puppet

05.02.15: this is how it feels to live with a fours-years old, evil mastermind!!! Was gonna have her say "dance, my puppets, dance!!!" But it just made her too evil...

And we are in to the four hundreds... Almost there...

Day 400: a bully

04.02.15: wow...day 400?!?!? Really???! Like Bulldog Bob (from day 142) is saying "like taking candy from a...youse knows..." (Was happy for a second chance to draw Bulldog Bob as I wasn't entirely happy with him the first time around...even if he is a bully...)

As this is another milestone, I will ask again for your top five (top three? Your favorite?) from the last 100. This was something my cousin started in day 100 (and I have since asked the question on day 200 and 300). So come on, let me know!!

My top five (in no particular order) woul be:
Day 366, I just think it's funny...
Day 329, it came out cooler than I expected
Day 306, features the kids. Both cute and funny, I think
Day 321, cause it marked the halfway point and who doesn't like crazy animals...?
And day 326 as it got inked and colored (and made into a movie...well, it was already a movie... But it did premiere till after I drew tis so I of course take full credit for that movie coming into being!!!)

     Here's to the next 100!!

Day 399: a gnome

03.02.15: this one was inspired by the fantastic work of Dutch nature artist Rien Poortvliet. His gnome book was one of the first "art books" I ever read. At the time I did not know that Mr Poortvliet was famous for his nature paintings. All I know is I loved his work as a kid. I am glad I got to look it up again.

Day 398: a pillow

02.02.15: for those of you who want the answer, take a look at day 209...who knew I could predict the future?!?!?

Day 397: roller skates

01.02.15: I was gonna draw the Boss on the roller skates she has wanted for "like forever" (she is only four!!! I am dreading when she's a teenager...) but then I came across these takypods from 1910 (Swedish design of course, I mean who else would come up with something like these...?) and I just could not pass them up. As you can tell, neither could Gus...

Day 396: a cranky old man

31.01.15: they don't come any crankier than Jeff Dynham's Walter. I know I am using "strong" language, but that's as clean as it gets with Walter... (If you have no clue what I am taking about, got to YouTube right now!!! SO worth it!!) Walter's also probably one of the only men alive who will get all the references from yesterday's sketch!!

Also, you know it's been an exciting evening in the B'Aabø-household when I am posting at two in the morning. Got the love the whole teething-process, especially when it's been going on for almost five months... Maybe quoting Waltet will help...?
